Assistants to the President  MISSION
- Plans for evangelistic endeavors for the entire region including unchurched areas
- Obtains knowledge regarding the population of African-Americans, Hispanics, and other ethnic groups in various cities
- Provides emphasis in church growth and evangelism
- Identifies places for potential church plants and evangelistic meetings
RELATIONSHIP TO THE PASTOR
- Chairs monthly / quarterly meetings with pastors within their region(s)
- Provides encouragement
- Encourages professional development and enrichment
- Acts as a liaison between the field and the conference
- Helps to provide guidance, especially to interns
- Ensures that each pastor facilitates the church in a visioning process
- Communicates and interprets to area pastors and churches the needs and programs of the conference
- Fosters team-building and promotes opportunities for pastors to experience a collaborative style of ministry and Christian fellowship
- Provides pastoral support for area workers
RELATIONSHIP TO THE CONFERENCE
- Acts in the stead of the president when requested
- Assists administration in reconciling pastoral church conflicts
- Promotes conference initiatives
- Represents the conference at all times
- Maintains and expresses a supportive attitude toward his church and the administration
- Facilitates the periodic assessment of needs within the designated ministerial area(s)
- Assists in developing plans and proposals to enable the conference to accomplish its mission, goals, and objectives within the ministerial area(s)
- Represents administration in the installation of new pastors
- Sits with the conference Executive Committee
- Makes site inspections on conference-owned properties and proposed real estate purchases as requested
AUTHORITY
- The Assistants to the President work in close relationship with and under the direct supervision of the conference president and operates on the authority of the conference administration as delegated by assigned task.
- Assistants to the President do not have the authority to discipline, suspend or terminate employees. Their authority is a role of counsel and recommendation to the administration. However, their influence is substantial.
